How many hours? It depends on your college list — the list determines how many essays, and each essay takes a couple of hours to take from idea to submission-ready. Start with 10 and add more anytime; there are no bundles to choose between.
Senior Live Sessions

Simple Terms. No Surprises.
- Sessions are 50 minutes, booked on your coach's calendar
- Paid in full at checkout
- Hours are valid through February 15, 2027
- Add hours anytime — the more you buy, the lower your rate; single hours $250
- Unused hours are not refundable
- Cancel or move a session with 24 hours' notice; no-shows use the hour
- We coach your student's writing — we never write for them
- This program does not include an admissions guarantee
Questions families ask
Answers Before You Ask.
How many hours does my student actually need?
Count your application systems, not your schools. UC-only students usually land in the 10–20 hour range. Students applying to both the UCs and Common App schools typically need 20. Lists with heavy supplemental essays (8–15 essays total) should start at 30. Your advisor will size it with you — and because bundles stack, starting smaller never locks you out.
What happens between sessions?
Your coach leaves short notes and light next steps after each call. But the heavy lifting — the actual writing and editing — happens live, together. That's the point of the program.
Who are the coaches?
Our coaching team is trained on egelloC's admissions system and knows exactly what top-school readers look for. You'll see each coach's background and specialties — including UC and East Coast expertise — before you choose.
Can we switch coaches if it's not a fit?
You keep the same coach every session so feedback compounds — that's deliberate. If something isn't working, tell your advisor and we'll make it right.
Why live sessions instead of essay editing?
If your student is a self-starter who writes on their own, our async Edit Packs are outstanding value. Live Sessions are for students who do their best work with someone in the room — or who simply won't start without one. Most families know immediately which student they have.
